SHFT

SHFT is a popup gallery/shop that’s open until Oct 27, 2011. It’s curated and created by artists and product designers all supporting the culture of today’s environment. Their mission is to convey a more sustainable approach to the way we live through video, design, art and culture. Uber creators, curators and names behind this cool concept include actor Adrian Grenier and film producer Peter Glatzer. It’s a shame this is only here until Thursday and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. You can find this and other La Brea hidden spots in the La Brea guide curated by yours truly. Vancouver’s Latest and Greatest

On the heels of our successful launch in The Big Apple, Vancouver’s Urbandiggers have some stellar new tours ready for the taking. How does a hangover brunch, followed by a little sassy shopping, as you throw back a few ryes and classic cocktails while downing a few food cart treats and sucking back oysters and bubbles, while you make your way to a back-ally hookup of your favourite band sound?

Head over to the Urbandig app to get the full-meal-deal on Vancouver’s newest destinations. Here’s a highlight reel to wet your appetite:

Shuck & Sip:
Vancouver being a sea-side town, you haven’t lived until you’ve sucked back fresh catch-of-the-day oysters while soaking every slurp with a fine selection of decadent bubbly. Food writer Degan Walters shucked and sipped her way to heaven…

Truckspotting:
Having fast become a food cart model for other major urban centres in North America, Vancouver’s food truck tour is all you need to discover the best mobile eats throughout the downtown core. Starving yourself the day before is strongly advised on this food cart guide with Jeff Voon.

Considered by most Vancouver’s top bar-star, Shaun Layton of L’Abattoir takes you on a spin around town to his drinking holes of choice on this craft cocktail extravaganza. A swagger in your step and a blurry eye is a must. This tour is so tight you can literally roll yourself from one stop to the next.

A tour for the die-hard music buffs wanting to “bump” into your favourite bands, this is a reveal of the ins and outs on rubbing shoulders with your music heros when the curtain falls, from Vancouver’s top music blogger, Mikael Taylor
